FAQs

Everything you might want to know before your first visit — what to expect, how we handle hygiene and cancellations, and how Tickle Bar keeps the experience light-touch, cozy, and never massage.

Your visit

Guests remain clothed. If you want direct touch on your back, you can remove your top in the privacy of the treatment area and our Tickle Tech will wait until you're ready. Our spaces use curtains for privacy, so we recommend comfortable clothing rather than dresses.

A clean, pleasant environment, hushed soft tones, personal attention, and feather-light physical touch. These are ASMR-infused sensory experiences designed to relax the mind, body, and soul. We don't offer massage, facials, hot rocks, lotions, chemicals, or any illicit services ? anyone asking for such will be asked to leave. Adjustable pillows and an armrest are available if you'd like extra support.

Tools and surfaces are sanitized between every client, and fresh medical hygiene paper is placed on high-touch areas for each appointment.

Don't worry ? we tailor the pressure to your comfort level. Our goal is never a rough, jabbing tickle, but long, slow, light touches that feel calming instead of overwhelming. We usually start with gentle tracing using feathers and fingertips, and we adjust if it doesn't feel right.

Many of our techniques are calming for people on the spectrum, and we're happy to treat your child as long as a parent or legal guardian is present and comfortable with the session.

ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) describes a subjective 'low-grade euphoria' ? a combination of positive feelings and a tingling sensation on the skin, often triggered by specific sounds or visuals. The term was coined around 2010 by Jennifer Allen, who chose it for how objective and clinical it sounded compared to more suggestive alternatives.
